![]() I doubt you need that to get good performance with Kontakt, but I do video editing and other stuff on my computer and would notice the difference. I have everything from the Xpand Vst to Serum, to Nexus etc, all legit. I am planning to get a Samsung EVO M2 PCI-E 3.0 x4 drive as those are like 5x faster than the typical SATA3 drive. Looking for someone willing to trade komplete 11 or ultimate with me in exchange for my plugin library. That is actually my longer-term plan, but I am still paying off my debt for KU so I haven't gotten around to that yet. The alternative is to just buy another SSD and dedicate that to KU. If you're waiting around for stuff to load then that is a sign that you ought to manage your resources a bit. Then for the rest just put it on a cheaper HDD with more space.ĭefinitely ensure that your DAW, Windows, and the VST plugins are all installed on your SSD. Once you get more into Komplete, you'll be able to see what you use frequently and then allocate permanent precious SSD space to just those libraries. ![]() Then as far as windows/kontakt is concerned, the files have not moved, but you now enjoy the faster speeds of the SSD. To create symbolic links, install this freeware: Īll you have to do then is right-click on a folder you moved to the SSD, pick "choose link location", and then go to the original folder where it is now missing, right click and do "drop as junction". When I am finished with the project, I can move that stuff back to the HDD. Then I create a symbolic link junction on the HDD pointing to the new location on the SSD. Once I've identified what I'm actually going to use, I move the folder to the SSD. ![]() When I am working on a project, I am generally only using a few kontakt libraries rather than the entire collection. I then pointed the content location to a folder on a regular HDD with a lot more space. ![]() I installed all of the applications/vst's on my SSD (the application/vst location in Native Access).
